Faith Parenting

Child Like

Children fall down all the time, bumps, bruises and skinned knees are common accessories for my littles. As a mom when I see my child have a wipe out my response is usually something like “bonk! you’re all right”  I say this because I know my child is fine, and my little ones have enough faith in what I say that they believe my words true and they move on with little to no tears.

In Mark 10 Jesus talks about receiving the kingdom of God as a child would. I really believe he is referring to how children believe what they are told, they have faith in the words of their care-givers. If mommy says “you’re all right” they receive the message, believe it and move forward knowing that they truly are “alright” because they have faith it what mommy says.

” anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” -Mark 10:15

If you think about it child -like faith is really simple, you read the message, believe it and have faith it will come to pass just as Jesus says. Than why do we as grown adults make it so dang complicated!!! Our pain (to God) is nothing more than a boo-boo our kids get when they wipe out. This does not mean that He is discrediting our pain, as a mom it always makes me cringe when my kids get hurt no matter how big or small. But, just as I am there to reassure my kids it’s going to be be ok; God is doing the same for us in verses like…

Exodus 15:26 “….For I am the Lord who heals you”

Psalm 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds their wounds”

Jeremiah 30:17 “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds; declares the LORD”

The bible is FILLED with verse after verse of God’s promises of healing in our lives. There is no boo-boo or ouchy that is to big for our Lord.  As I read more I began to pray that He would instow in me a child -like faith. But, hey I’m 30 years old I was a child at one point so that faith is already in me; I just need to let it out and accept the healing in my life that God so graciously already gave me by sending his son Jesus to earth to die for all of our sins, our pain and our suffering.

If our pain is from actual illness, financial struggle, relationship problems or just the stress of daily life; I want you to know that the healing we are searching for has already been given; we just need to hear it, believe it, have faith in it and accept our totally awesomes God’s healing in us.

Hello and Welcome to my page! My name is Ashley, I am a stay at home mom of two beautiful littles Rylee and Kreed. My husband and I started Our Love Story all the way back in the 4th grade. It was a messy ride at times until about 3 years ago. After going through troubled waters we decided to rebuild our entire life on the foundation of Christ. Since then we have been created a beautiful life together. We enjoy working on our little farm house, traveling and camping with our kids and coming up with unique ways to keep on dating all these years later. We have built this life by simply accepting God's grace. I can't wait to share our story with you.

Beautiful! I love how you simplify this wonderful truth. Here, it’s easy to understand God’s heart when we look at is as a parent….after all God is our Father and we are His children. Thank you for sharing your perspective.
