Let’s talk positively about negativity! Now that’s a crazy thought… Lately everywhere I look I’m seeing so many negative things and it’s annoying the crap out of me! It’s gotten me to the point where I don’t even scroll through Facebook. I feel like we are living in a world where all anyone does anymore is complain and get offended over EVERY little thing and then complain about how they are feeling offended. All of this negativity got me thinking, and I was able to find inspiration in the madness.
I have learned recently that it is better to talk about how I’m feeling rather than bottle it all up until I explode like a science experiment gone wrong. However this does not mean that I should share my problems with the whole world. The cashier at Target doesn’t need to hear about my bad day nor do I feel it necessary to post about it on Facebook and risk bringing someone else down because I’m having a bad day. HINT HINT to all you negative Facebook posters. STOP sucking the life out of everyone else! We have all had those times where it feels like everything we do goes terriably wrong. How do you typically handle those situations? Do you find yourself complaining about it to every person you see or posting about it one social media? Do you take out your anger on the ones you love? I’ve been guilty of some of this in the past, we all have. Don’t get me wrong here, I do not think there is anything wrong with taking a problem and bringing it to a friend or loved one seeking some advice. But, how often do we bring a problem to a friend and weeks or even months later we find ourselves STILL talking about the SAME problem. God asks us to cast all our worries and burdens unto him Mathew 11:28 reads ” Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give your rest.” Not only does God ask us to come to him with our struggles but he also promises us rest in doing so! I don’t know about you but I for one am going to start listening to God here, I could use me some rest.
Could you imagine if everyone for one whole week cast all their worries unto God instead of the rest of the world. Imagine all the good we would see, all the kindness! Social media would be filled with inspiration and positive vibes. Instead of scrolling through with a disgusted face we would be smiling at all the ideas we would see. I’m just one person and I can’t change the world on my own but I do have the power to choose what I do with a negative situation. I am the daughter of a King who is not moved by this world, and I’m choosing to start living like God is asking us too. When a problem floods into my life I’m going to bring it to God immediately and thank him for casting all my burdens away, for letting me rest knowing my God is for me so who or what could EVER be against me. Living my life this way will free my mind giving it room to explore new ideas, love deeper and focus on the good. “Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will lift you up”- James 4:10. God has given each one of us beautiful talents to share with the world and he has given us the tools to share these talents. Don’t become so caught up in the evil of the world that you forget to seek the gifts God has given you.
“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single talent left, and could say, ‘I used EVERYTHING you gave me’. -Erma Bombeck
Live fiercely my friends!
